TOPIC: MY SCIENCE PROJECTS AND PANDEMIC
V.SABARISH
INTRODUCTION: During the covid-19 pandemic, I am in home, bored and always watching phone, my parents were scolding me that I want to do some other things useful instead of sitting in phone. So, I thought of doing some projects with the things I could afford in that situation.
THE FACTORS WHICH MOTIVATED ME: When I was watching YouTube, I noticed a video on ‘Simple science projects’ in which I saw some projects which I can make with the things I had. And my physics teacher is another reason, that she gave me some work on science projects for online competition.
PROJECTS I MADE:-
1. A SERVING ROBOT: I first made a serving robot with the help of YouTube and also with my fiends near my house came to help me. We used cardboard for robot’s body, aluminum foil for coating and a remote controlled car for moving it and it is attached at the bottom of it. And also small lights for decoration and two sticks as its hand with a plastic tray attached with it.
2. AN EARTHQUAKE DETECTOR: My second project, an earthquake detector, which I made for the competition that physics mam said to do. I made it by seeing videos as well as with my ideas. I used cardboard, a buzzer from old speaker, glue, a nut, a safety pin, copper wire which I got from my old charger, battery, switch and color paper to decorate it. It was working on a simple principle that is with a simple circuit, when the earthquake occurs the nut tied with the copper wire handed which goes into the safety pin connected to the battery, touches the pin and make beep sound.
3. WATER ROCKET: I made a water rocked with the help of a water bottle and a cycle pump. A cycle wall tube is connected to the bottles opening in which the air pump is connected. The bottle will be half filled with water. When the air pump makes pressure inside the bottle, and with the water it will create a pressure downwards and fly to a distance.
CONCLUSION: I’m coming to say that instead of wasting time on seeing phone, make it useful and learn thing and do useful projects if you are interested in science when you are board.
