STUDENTS ATTITUDE TOWARDS COMMUNITY SERVICE AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITY

INTRODUCTION:

           Due to pandemic, many community services and volunteer activities. With the rise of virtual platforms, students have had to adopt to engage in volunteering activities.


CAUSE OF FEAR:
       
           After 2 years of COVID when students came back to school they were hesitant to participate in activities involving close contact and large gatherings. They feared to participate because of COVID 19 infection. The pandemic has placed a mental and emotional burden on students. Same people were affected by COVID 19, some lost their loved ones. They may prioritise their own well being, leading to a decreased emphasis on community service and voluntarism.
The pandemic has disrupted students life causing their priorities and interests to shift . This may result in a revolution of their engagement in community service and volunteer activities.


INNOVATIVE APPROACHES:

               Despite challenges , some students have found creative ways to engage in community service and voluntarism during the pandemic. This includes virtual fundraisers, online awareness campaigns, some cook and gave soup , some donate books to poor children and most important remote assistance. School also encouraged students in these activities. In our schools students were asked to make masks and those were donated to the needy . Our school also donated sanitisers and temperature monitoring devices . 


CONCLUSION:

           Overall, when COVID 19 has presented obstacles to traditional community service and volunteer activities, it has also created resilience among students. They are finding new ways to engage and make a positive change around them.
